We asked our readers a burning question in our latest newsletter: “What type of RV clubs do you belong to?” And let’s just say, the responses were… revealing.
From die-hard Good Sam fans to proud lone wolves who refuse to be tied down by club commitments, the answers paint a fascinating picture of RV life. Some of you are all about the discounts and camaraderie, while others would rather park in the middle of nowhere than deal with another membership fee.
Oh, and for those who missed it—this poll was in our newsletter, so if you didn’t vote, shame on you! (Just kidding… mostly.) But seriously, make sure to vote next time so your voice is heard in our totally scientific and extremely prestigious polls.
Now, without further ado, let’s break down the results in this very official chart:
RV Club | Percentage of Votes |
---|---|
Good Sam Club | 47% |
Escapees RV Club | 3% |
FMCA | 17% |
Local clubs | 0% |
None | 33% |
Good Sam Club: The Undisputed Champion
With nearly half the votes, Good Sam Club reigns supreme—and honestly, we’re not surprised. Where else can you get discounts on campgrounds, propane, and probably a lifetime supply of RV-safe toilet paper? Good Sam is like the Costco of RV clubs: you may not need everything they offer, but once you’re in, you’ll never leave.
Escapees RV Club: The Underdog (Literally)
At a humble 3%, Escapees RV Club is the underdog of this poll. Maybe it’s the name—do people think it’s for fugitives? “Sorry officer, I’m not fleeing the law, I just love full-time RV living!” Whatever the reason, this club clearly needs a PR boost. Or at least a rebrand to “The Cool RV Club (No, Really, We Swear).”
FMCA: The Middle Child
FMCA sits comfortably in the middle with 17% of the vote. It’s like the reliable but slightly overlooked middle child of RV clubs. Not as flashy as Good Sam, not as mysterious as Escapees—just there, doing its thing, offering solid benefits without the drama. Respect.
Local Clubs: The Ghost Town
A whopping 0% of voters belong to local clubs. That’s right—zero. Not a single soul. Either local clubs are that bad, or y’all just don’t like making friends in your area. Maybe it’s the awkward small talk at meetups: “So… how’s your black tank doing?”
None: The Free Spirits
A third of respondents proudly declared they belong to no clubs at all. These are the rebels, the lone wolves, the “I don’t need no stinkin’ membership” crowd. They’re out there boondocking in the desert, living their best unaffiliated life. We salute you—even if we secretly judge you for missing out on those sweet, sweet Good Sam discounts.
Why Did the Results Shake Out This Way?
The dominance of Good Sam Club makes sense—it’s the most well-known and offers tangible perks. FMCA’s mid-tier popularity reflects its niche appeal for serious RVers. Meanwhile, Escapees and local clubs clearly need better marketing (or maybe just free snacks at meetings). As for the “None” crowd? They’re either too cool for clubs or just really hate paperwork. Either way, the results prove one thing: RVers are a diverse bunch, and no two road warriors are the same.
Now, who’s ready for the next poll? (And please, local clubs—do better.)
