Living the full-time RV life sounds like a dream—freedom, adventure, and endless new horizons. But what happens when the dream starts to feel more like a never-ending road trip with no pit stops?

One adventurous couple recently hit their breaking point and decided to share their raw, unfiltered experience.

From travel burnout to unexpected challenges, they open up about why they’re pressing pause on constant movement.

The couple from LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW dives deep into their story—below are the highlights, but make sure to watch the full video at the end of the article!

1. What Led Up to This Change

The couple had been full-time RVing for two and a half years, moving every one to two weeks—until a brutal travel stretch broke them. Between Thanksgiving in Santa Barbara and Christmas in New Orleans, they faced exhausting seven-to-eight-hour weekend drives just to keep up.

“We had some like seven-, eight-hour drive days, which we never do… it was too much, too fast. We were stressed, we were tired, my health was getting worse.”

Honestly, who wouldn’t crack under that pressure? Even the most wanderlust-driven souls need a break from being human GPS units.

2. Pros of Stationary Life

After settling in Florida for three months (a first for them), they discovered unexpected perks. Doctor’s appointments, repairs, and even just not packing up every weekend became luxuries.

“Staying stationary can basically solve a lot of problems… we’re able to go to the doctors, rest, and actually think about our goals.”

Turns out, not living like a turtle with a house on its back has its advantages—who knew?

3. Thinking About Going Full-Time?

If you’re considering the RV life, they warn: it’s not all Instagram sunsets and cozy campfires.

“It’s a big deal… moving into a 200- to 300-foot box and traveling the country.”

Their solution? A step-by-step course to avoid rookie mistakes. (Because nobody wants to learn about black tank disasters the hard way.)

4. Cons of Stationary Life

Of course, staying put isn’t all relaxation and beach days. They miss the excitement of new places and now deal with noisy neighbors and… acorn-farting dogs?

“The dog is eating [acorns], and it creates a little… smell pollution. Those acorn farts are bad.”

Florida in winter may be paradise, but even paradise has its downsides—like realizing your neighbor’s yappy dog is now your three-month roommate.

5. Clearwater Anniversary Fun

Despite the challenges, they made the best of their stationary stint—celebrating 33 years of marriage with a gloomy but romantic beach day.

“A gloomy day on the beach is a great day on the beach… Floridians are bundled up, northerners are in bathing suits.”

Nothing says “33 years of love” like sharing mojitos while judging tourists’ cold-weather fashion choices.

6. Fishing Tampa Bay & Exploring Tarpon Springs

From fishing near cruise ships to devouring fresh seafood at Rusty Bellies, they proved that staying in one place doesn’t mean missing out.

“Suck it out of the shell—that’s how you do it!” (Their very classy mussel-eating technique.)
