We recently posed a question to our community of adventurous souls. We wanted to peek into your active lifestyles beyond the campfire and the comfy camp chair. The topic of how you like to get your blood pumping in the great outdoors was our latest curiosity.

This poll was sent out directly in our weekly newsletter, where our readers become the stars of the show. We love seeing your preferences shape the content and conversations here. Make sure you’re subscribed and voting so your voice is counted in future findings!

And the Winner, By a Landslide, Is…

Without further ado, let’s dive into the results. The people have spoken, and they have a strong preference for getting wet.

A Deep Dive into the Results (Pun Intended)

Look at that magnificent blue bar for swimming. It’s not just winning; it’s doing a cannonball into first place and splashing all the other activities off the podium.

This clearly demonstrates that for RVers, the ultimate workout involves submerging oneself in water. Who can blame you? After a long day of driving or setting up camp, a cool lake or pool is pure bliss.

It seems the idea of “going for a run” while on vacation is less appealing to most. The 17% who chose running are clearly the overachievers we all secretly admire and slightly resent before our first cup of coffee.

A Moment of Silence for Yoga

Let’s all take a deep, calming breath for our friend Yoga. It received a solid zero percent of the vote. Not a single person opted for a serene session of downward-facing dog on their picnic mat.

This suggests that the goal of RV fitness is less about inner peace and more about pure, refreshing fun. Or perhaps the ground is just too far away after a big campfire dinner.

The Call of the Wild (But Not Too Wild)

Climbing managed to snag a respectable 8% of the vote. This represents our true thrill-seekers, the ones who see a mountain and think, “I bet the view from there is amazing.”

These are the RVers who have no problem leveling their rig on a steep incline and then going to find a literal cliff for fun. We salute your adventurous spirit and your well-stocked first-aid kit.

Conclusion: Why Water is the Clear Champion

We believe these results came in so decisively for one simple reason: integration. Swimming is the activity that most seamlessly blends with the core RVing experience. It’s often available right at the campground, requires no special gear beyond a suit, and feels less like a workout and more like a reward. Running and climbing feel like separate tasks you have to schedule, while yoga might feel a bit too much like the chores you’re trying to escape. Ultimately, jumping into a cool body of water is the perfect, joyful counterbalance to a day on the road, making it the undisputed fitness champion of the RV community.
